In recent years, with the rapid development of international trade and increasingly frequent personnel exchanges, the illegal introduction of invasive alien species and trading activities have become increasingly active. In the first eight months of this year, customs across the country intercepted a total of 1,826 species of live animals and plants that are prohibited from entering the country from inbound deliveries and carried items, including giant centipedes, red crazy ants, spotted salamanders and other animals that have no natural distribution in my country. 796 species of plants, and many criminal gangs that illegally introduced "exotic pets" were eliminated.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Biosafety Law and other laws, the national customs, people's courts at all levels, and people's procuratorates at all levels will jointly carry out operations to increase clue collection and strengthen the monitoring of freight, carrying, posting, and cross-border transportation. Inspection of alien species through cross-border e-commerce, border trade and other channels; strengthen the connection and cooperation between administrative law enforcement and criminal justice, timely transfer, filing, investigation, prosecution, and trial of suspected illegal and criminal cases, investigate criminal liability in accordance with the law, investigate and handle a number of typical cases, and form a Judicial deterrence; establish and improve case notification and case transfer mechanisms, jointly carry out supervision and supervision of major cases; actively carry out interpretation of relevant laws and policies, guide the public to consciously stay away from and resist related illegal activities, and form a joint force to combat the illegal introduction of invasive alien species.
