On September 6, the 300,000 tons/year adipic acid plant of Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) new materials project was officially put into operation.
The 300,000 tons/adipic acid plant is one of the main process production devices of Hengli Petrochemical’s new material supporting chemical project. The project started construction on May 5, 2022, and adopts the advanced process hydration synthesis patented by China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd. method to produce cyclohexanol, and dilute nitric acid as raw materials to produce high-end adipic acid products.
After the adipic acid plant is put into operation, the 300,000 tons/year adipic acid produced will be used to produce degradable plastics, covering the 66,000 tons of PBS/PBAT that Hengli Petrochemical has put into production and the 450,000 tons of PBS that will be built in the future, achieving two The self-sufficiency of raw materials has formed a degradable plastic production base in Dalian Changxing Island Park.
In addition, after the 300,000 tons/year adipic acid project is put into operation, it will further open up and improve the entire industrial chain of degradable new materials of Hengli Petrochemical from “crude oil-PTA, adipic acid-PBAT”. At the same time, adipic acid is also an important raw material for the production of nylon 66, and it purifies more than 95.0% of the carbon dioxide tail gas emitted by the low-temperature methanol washing device to 99.99% food grade, which not only recovers industrial waste gas carbon dioxide, but also increases benefits for the enterprise.
Hengli Petrochemical’s recently put into operation and projects to be put into operation
On September 4, the phenol acetone unit of the new materials project of Sinochem Fourth Construction Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) held a mobilization meeting titled “Comprehensive Sprint for 15 Days to Ensure Completion on September 20”. It is part of the 1.6 million tons/year high-performance resin and new material project of Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) New Material Technology Co., Ltd. By then, Hengli Petrochemical Bisphenol A will have a large amount of export sales entering the market.
On July 11, the second production line of the PTA project of Hengli (Huizhou) Industrial Park was successfully put into operation and officially put into operation, marking the full commissioning of the 5 million tons/year PTA project of Hengli (Huizhou) Industrial Park. At this point, together with the 12 million tons of PTA annual production capacity of the (Dalian Changxing Island) Industrial Park, Hengli Group’s annual PTA production capacity has reached 17 million tons, ranking first in the world.
In June 2023, the main construction of the first phase of the factory area of Hengli Yangtze River Delta International New Materials Industry Base Project has been completed. The first polyester film production line equipment has been successfully debugged, and other production lines are also being debugged. All 12 production lines will be put into operation by the end of this year, and will have an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of high-end functional polyester films and functional plastics.
Kanghui Dalian New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hengli Petrochemical, has an annual output of 450,000 tons of degradable plastics. The project is a flexible production line that can produce PBS/PBAT/PBT and other products. It has completed the preliminary infrastructure construction and is debugging according to the production line. , it is expected to be put into production in the third quarter.
