The Fudan University-Dow Joint Materials Research Center, established in 2012, is the first joint research center established by Dow in a university in the Asia-Pacific region. In the new phase of the cooperation agreement, the two parties will continue to focus on the field of materials science, combining Dow’s business portfolio of high-performance materials, industrial intermediates and plastics to cooperate on R&D projects in packaging, infrastructure, consumer care and other application fields. Ten years of cooperation, fruitful results
Since its establishment in 2012, the two parties have cooperated on about 50 projects, published 16 articles, and applied for more than ten patents.
Both parties are committed to joint talent cultivation, with more than 25 professors and 50 graduate students participating in the cooperation. More than 30 graduate students from Fudan University have entered Dow’s R&D summer intern program, and more than ten doctoral graduates have joined the Dow R&D family.
The cooperation between the two parties has also been commended by the government, and has won the 2014 Shanghai International Cooperation Award and the title of Shanghai’s Top Ten Collaborative Innovation Foreign Investment Enterprises in 2021.
