According to news from the 2023 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference, which opened in Beijing on the 21st, as of now, a total of 2,508 fuel cell vehicles have been registered in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration. The average cumulative mileage of demonstration vehicles is 26,700 kilometers, and the average cumulative mileage of hydrogen vehicles is 23,200 kilometers.
In August 2021, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Shanghai, and Guangdong urban agglomerations were included in the first batch of national fuel cell vehicle demonstration city agglomerations, with a four-year demonstration period. The construction of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster was launched in August 2021. The city cluster consists of Daxing District, Haidian District, Fangshan District, Shunyi District, Changping District, Yanqing District, Economic and Technological Development Zone of Beijing, and Binhai New District of Tianjin It is composed of 12 cities (districts) including Tangshan City and Baoding City in Hebei Province, Zibo City and Binzhou City in Shandong Province. At present, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration has realized the industrialization of research and development of key components such as stacks, membrane electrodes, bipolar plates, air compressors, and hydrogen circulation systems.
As the leading city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster, in order to improve the high-quality and sustainable operation of fuel cell vehicles, Beijing has aggregated the hydrogen energy industry chain through the "Demonstration Application Project" mechanism and focused on key components. Provide relevant support for innovation, vehicle promotion and operation, and hydrogenation station construction and operation.
The 212 hydrogen fuel cell buses used for demonstration during the preparation and hosting of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will be converted to urban bus operations in July 2022, relying on the Beijing "Demonstration Application Project" mechanism. Hydrogen fuel cell buses have become a regular operation in Yanqing District, Fangshan District and the connection scenes between the two districts and the central city. As of the end of August 2023, the cumulative mileage of these 212 vehicles has exceeded 80,000 kilometers, and their operating performance is close to the service level of the same scenario and the same level of fuel or pure electric buses.
The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology stated that in the next step, the construction of fuel cell vehicle demonstration city clusters will be stepped up, striving to complete the promotion of 5,300 vehicles by 2025, and promote the industrialization of research and development of key core components of catalysts.
