Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in August, Xinjiang’s crude steel output was 1.138 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.9%; pig iron output was 1.032 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%; steel output was 1.422 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.0%.
From January to August, Xinjiang’s crude steel output was 9.100 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%; pig iron output was 7.901 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%; steel output was 10.378 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.6%.
In August, Xinjiang’s raw iron ore output was 2.928 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.6%; the cumulative iron ore raw output from January to August was 14.917 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.6%.
According to statistics from the Xinjiang Iron and Steel Industry Association, from January to August, the sales volume of building materials (including high-quality steel) of key monitoring member companies in Xinjiang inside and outside the area was 6.48 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%; Strip sales were 2.66 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%.
