According to data from the Ministry of Commerce’s Important Production Materials Market Monitoring System: From September 16th to September 22nd, judging from the sample data of monitored varieties, the average price of coal in Inner Mongolia was 778.65 yuan/ton, an increase of 1.1% month-on-month, and the same as the previous month. Compared with the same period last year (hereinafter referred to as the same period last year), it decreased by 14.1%. Among them, the average price of anthracite No. 2 washed lump coal was 848.29 yuan/ton, up 1.8% month-on-month and down 10.5% year-on-year; the average price of thermal coal with a calorific value of 5000-5500 kcal was 664.89 yuan/ton, up 1.4% month-on-month and down year-on-year. 10.6%; the average price of 1/3 of coking coal was 822.77 yuan/ton, an increase of 0.2% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 19.9%.
The Department of Commerce of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region stated that as the weather gradually turns cooler, demand for coal increases and market sales increase. Under the influence of the supply-guaranteing policy, the demand for coal in power plants remained high, and transaction activity increased, driving coal prices to rise month-on-month. The coal market is expected to be stable in the near future, with prices fluctuating up and down.
