Rust inhibitors are divided into powder type and water type according to their product status. Aqueous rust inhibitors should be diluted and used, and powdered rust inhibitors should be used as solutions, and the solution water should be deducted from the amount of water added. Its performance indicators should comply with regulations.
This test plays a certain role in qualitatively determining the effectiveness of rust inhibitors. However, since steel bars are used in the test instead of cement concrete, the salt water immersion test is not suitable for cement concrete components.
The corrosion of exposed steel bars is more direct and effective. Inside the cement concrete is an alkaline environment with a pH value as high as 13, which is completely different from the saturated Ca (HO) 2 solution containing 1115% NaCl. Therefore, this single test alone cannot confirm the effectiveness of the rust inhibitor in cement concrete or mortar environments. However, this method is simple and intuitive, and is included in domestic and foreign rust inhibitor standards, and is used as an indicator to qualitatively judge the effectiveness of rust inhibitors. The second index uses 8 times of salt water immersion and drying tests on reinforced concrete with or without rust inhibitors. After test comparison, it is more stringent and clear than the 60 times of dry, wet, cold and hot times specified in the literature [3]. The third index electrochemical comprehensive test refers to the fresh mortar method, the hardened mortar method and the macro-cell corrosion test of steel bars in concrete. These three methods are quantitative corrosion test methods with higher technical requirements. Practice has proved that using only one method may lead to misjudgment. Therefore, most experts at home and abroad recommend the use of comprehensive methods for evaluation, and at least two of these methods should be used in actual use. In addition, rust inhibitors should be protected from exposure to the sun, rain, and moisture during transportation and storage. At the same time, they should be kept away from open flames and flammable and explosive materials. They should not be spread anywhere or touched with bare hands.
