According to data from the Ministry of Commerce’s Important Production Materials Market Monitoring System: From September 23 to September 29, judging from the sample data of monitored varieties, the average price of coal in Inner Mongolia was 843.32 yuan/ton, an increase of 0.5% month-on-month, and the same as the previous month. Compared with the same period last year (hereinafter referred to as the same period last year), it decreased by 12%. Among them, the average price of anthracite No. 2 washed lump coal was 949 yuan/ton, up 1.3% month-on-month, and down 9.7% year-on-year; the average price of thermal coal with a calorific value of 5,000-5,500 kcal was 674.74 yuan/ton, up 0.5% month-on-month, and year-on-year. A decrease of 11.2%; the average price of 1/3 of coking coal was 906.22 yuan/ton, a decrease of 0.4% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 14.9%.
The Department of Commerce of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region stated that as the weather gradually turns cooler, rigid demand for coal for heating has initially emerged. The purchase of winter coal storage has driven an increase in coal demand and increased market sales. Demand from power plants remains high and market transactions are active, driving coal prices up month-on-month. The coal market is expected to be stable in the near future, with prices fluctuating up and down.
