In September 2023, the national industrial producer price dropped by 2.5% year-on-year and increased by 0.4% month-on-month; the purchasing price of industrial producers decreased by 3.6% year-on-year and increased by 0.6% month-on-month. On average from January to September, the ex-factory price of industrial producers fell by 3.1% compared with the same period last year, and the purchasing price of industrial producers fell by 3.6%.
1. Year-on-year changes in industrial producer prices in September
In the ex-factory price of industrial producers, the price of means of production fell by 3.0%, which affected the overall level of ex-factory price of industrial producers by about 2.45 percentage points. Among them, prices in the extractive industry fell by 7.4%, and prices in the raw material industry and processing industry both fell by 2.8%. The price of daily necessities fell by 0.3%, affecting the overall level of factory prices for industrial producers to fall by about 0.07 percentage points. Among them, food prices decreased by 0.3%, clothing prices increased by 0.8%, general daily necessities prices increased by 0.7%, and durable consumer goods prices decreased by 1.2%.
In terms of purchasing prices for industrial producers, the prices of chemical raw materials fell by 7.3%, the prices of fuel and power fell by 7.0%, the prices of building materials and non-metallic products fell by 6.6%, the prices of agricultural and sideline products fell by 4.2%, and the prices of ferrous metal materials fell by 4.2%. The price fell by 3.4%; the price of non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 4.2%.
Month-on-month changes in industrial producer prices in February and September
In the ex-factory price of industrial producers, the price of means of production increased by 0.5%, affecting the overall level of ex-factory price of industrial producers to increase by about 0.37 percentage points. Among them, the price of the mining industry increased by 1.8%, that of the raw material industry increased by 1.3%, and that of the processing industry increased by 0.1%. The price of daily necessities increased by 0.1%, affecting the overall level of factory prices for industrial producers to increase by about 0.03 percentage points. Among them, the prices of food and clothing both increased by 0.2%, the prices of general daily necessities increased by 0.1%, and the prices of durable consumer goods remained unchanged.
In terms of purchasing prices for industrial producers, the prices of fuel and power increased by 1.8%, the prices of chemical raw materials increased by 1.6%, the prices of non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 0.9%, and the prices of ferrous metal materials and agricultural and sideline products both increased by 0.4 %; the prices of building materials and non-metallic products decreased by 1.0%.
