Coconut oleic acid is a white or milky yellow solid waxy or oily liquid. It is a series of different types of fatty acids extracted from coconut oil. The main fatty acid is lauric acid, along with other saturated fatty acids such as caprylic, capric, myristic, palmitic and stearic acids, and smaller amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. C12: 57%, C14: 22%, C16: 10%.
Coconut oleic acid can be used as the following additives:
Paints and Coatings – Chain terminators: Provide formulation flexibility, faster reaction rates and consistency in condensation reactions to make alkyd resins.
Household and Industrial Cleaners: Soaps used alone or in combination with other chemicals to formulate hard surface cleaners and detergents
Metalworking lubrication and load-bearing additives in metalworking fluids.
Surfactants, detergents: Surfactants are usually alkaline. By using coconut fatty acids to lower the pH value, the foam of the product will be reduced. This makes it easier to rinse away surfactants, stains and dirt while still providing a high level of cleaning power.
