Zinc laurate appears as fine white powder and feels smooth. Soluble in hot water and hot ethanol, slightly soluble in cold ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. It has excellent emulsifying, dispersing and lubricating abilities.
The production and synthesis method of zinc laurate is as follows:
1. Precipitated from soluble coconut oil soap solution with zinc sulfate solution.
2. Suspend 27.5g chemically pure zinc oxide in 150mL water, add 0.5g morpholine, and then add 140.6g commercial grade laurel Dissolve acid and 0.5g morpholine in 700mL water to form an emulsion, and keep the temperature at 65°C. Gradually add the prepared lauric acid emulsion to the zinc oxide suspension within 1 hour, keep the temperature at 55°C, and stir thoroughly. After obtaining the zinc laurate product, filter it out and dry it.
