The pH of 0.1moI/L solution is 10.5. There is a danger of burning when exposed to high heat, open flame or contact with oxidants. Its aqueous solution is corrosive.
Application of triethanolamine in the papermaking industry:
In the papermaking industry, triethanolamine and fatty acids are used to prepare alkyl alcohol amides (Ninar ) Detergent compounded with other non-ionic surfactants. Used for washing papermaking felts, it has the advantages of excellent degreasing and decontamination effects, antistatic, water saving and extended felt life.
In addition, triethanolamine can also be used as an additive in the production of special filter paper. Filter materials such as air filter paper, diesel filter paper, and oil filter paper are widely used for filtration in tractors, cars, ships, etc. The paper water-soluble resin formula is prepared from triethanolamine, bisphenolic acid, and formaldehyde in a certain proportion. It can be used as an anti-rust inhibitor in the production of anti-rust paper and has anti-corrosion properties in packaging items.
