COIM is an Italian multinational company that has been producing chemical products since 1962 and operates throughout the world through 19 manufacturing and trading companies. The company will bring its Laripur
RS bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) products will be unveiled at FAKUMA 2023. The products are sourced from vegetable crops with controlled supply chains and contain up to 75% carbon from renewable sources.
Laripur R&D Manager Raimondo
Baldassarri explains: “The replacement of fossil materials with materials from renewable resources represents a major shift towards environmentally friendly solutions that can be adopted on a large scale: the bio-based material formulations developed by COIM using renewable plant resources are intended to replace traditional products while maintaining the same performance, and in some cases even better performance, without our customers having to make changes to their machinery or overall production methods. We also provide our customers with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data for our products to be able to document their sustainability Sexual advantage.”
Gilberto Nini, head of Laripur’s TPU business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “Bio-Laripur
RS initially aroused the luxury footwear industry’s interest in sole production. Product sustainability is of strategic importance in the industry. Nowadays, there is also an increased demand in the technical field and in the production of less “visible” solutions such as films and tubes. This is a concrete sign that all companies are committed to being more environmentally conscious. We are convinced that the market for biobased products will continue to grow significantly in the coming years, based on increasingly stringent regulatory requirements. ”
