Description of properties: Colorless liquid. Melting point -66°C, boiling point 115-116°C (100kPa), relative density 0.921 (20/20°C), refractive index 1.4349. The flash point is 23°C. Miscible with water, alcohol and benzene. It smells of ammonia. Production method: It is obtained by reacting morpholine with formaldehyde and formic acid. Slowly add formaldehyde to morpholine, add formic acid dropwise under stirring, the reaction will automatically reflux and release carbon dioxide. After adding formic acid, heat to reflux for 4-5h. After cooling, add sodium hydroxide to distill immediately, collect all fractions below 99°C, add sodium hydroxide to saturation, cool and separate the oil layer, dry, fractionate, and collect fractions at 114.5-117°C to obtain the finished product. Another method uses dichloroethyl ether, monomethylamine aqueous solution, liquid caustic soda and other raw materials to synthesize in one step. The process is short, the equipment is simple, the process conditions are mild, the investment is less, and the product yield is high and the quality is good.
