1,3-propanediol (1,3-PDO) is colorless, Odorless, transparent and viscous liquid, hygroscopic, miscible with water, alcohol and various organic solvents. It is an important organic chemical raw material, mainly used in inks, coatings, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, antifreeze and other industries.
1.3 Application of propylene glycol in polyester films:
1.3 Propylene glycol can undergo polycondensation reaction with terephthalic acid, adipic acid, and sebacic acid , made into the corresponding polyester film. This polyester film is biodegradable. In the soil, it can be gradually decomposed into fragments by the action of natural microorganisms, and the carcinogens it contains are far less than ordinary film materials. Therefore, 1.3 propylene glycol produced by low production cost technology will be widely used in the field of agricultural films.
A polyester mixture is obtained by mixing ethylene terephthalate as the main component and a crystalline polyester containing 1.3 propylene glycol that is different from the modified polyester. A film with good mechanical properties and high crystallinity can be obtained from this polyester. The film alone or after being laminated with a metal plate will not turn white even if it is heat treated near or above the melting point, and has good whitening resistance. At the same time, it is not easy to be damaged.
