The China Transportation Production Index released today (October 18) by the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport shows that transportation production maintained a stable recovery trend in September.
In September, the China Transportation Production Index (CTSI) was 177.5 points, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%. In terms of structure, the CTSI freight index was 209.4 points, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%. The freight index has maintained a growth rate of more than 6% for three consecutive months, continuing a stable and rapid development trend; the CTSI passenger index was 114.2 points, a year-on-year increase of 89.4%, and the growth rate was 8.2 percentage points faster than in August.
The China Transportation Production Index (CTSI) is a weighted composite of basic indicators based on railway, highway, waterway, and civil aviation passenger and freight volumes, and comprehensively reflects the overall operation of the transportation industry. The index consists of a comprehensive index and two sub-indexes, passenger transport and freight transport.
