Production method: Mixed fatty acids or methyl esters of mixed fatty acids obtained from coconut oil and palm kernel oil can be obtained by vacuum fractionation during drought. Laboratory preparation can be performed by saponification of glycerol tritetradecanoyl ester and 10% sodium hydroxide solution, and then acidification with hydrochloric acid to obtain free tetradecanoic acid. It can also be prepared by the tetradecanol method.
Usage: According to the supply of myristic acid: it is mainly used as a raw material for the production of surfactants, and is used to produce sorbitan fatty acid esters and glycerin. Fatty acid esters, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol fatty acid esters, etc. It can also be used to produce isopropyl myristate, etc. Also used as defoaming agent and flavoring agent. According to my country’s GB2760-89 regulations, it can be used to prepare various edible spices.

Isopropyl myristate can be used as a penetration enhancer in transdermal absorption formulations and can be used in conjunction with therapeutic ultrasound and iontophoresis.
