According to Ningbo’s Important Production Materials Market Monitoring System, in September 2023, the average price of coal in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province was 936.5 yuan/ton, an increase of 0.1% month-on-month. Among them, bituminous coal was 855 yuan/ton, the same as the previous month; anthracite coal was 1,018 yuan/ton, up 0.3% from the previous month. Since September, driven by the seasonal recovery of demand from downstream steel, chemicals, metallurgy and other industries, coal prices have been strongly driven to rise. At present, with the short-term supply tightening in the domestic market and the arrival of the "Golden Nine and Silver Ten" coal market, there is still room for coal prices to rise. At the same time, as the weather turns colder after October, the demand for coal for heating will be released, and the energy consumption of power plants will also increase significantly. It is expected that market demand for coal will improve and prices will rise steadily.
