In the production of rubber products Among them, plasticizers play a more important role in polar rubber, mainly improving the process performance of the rubber and the elasticity and flex resistance of the vulcanized rubber. Plasticizers are added to non-polar rubber mainly to improve its processing properties and play a softening role. Moreover, the use of plasticizers in different rubber products will also have different effects. Here, the editor of Xianji.com will briefly introduce to you the application of phthalates in several types of rubber.
(1) Styrene-butadiene rubber
DOP can reduce the glass transition temperature of styrene-butadiene rubber by 25~40 ℃, which is beneficial to the processing of styrene-butadiene rubber.
(2) Nitrile Rubber
Because nitrile rubber macromolecules contain nitrile groups , is a polar rubber. The cohesive energy of macromolecules is larger than that of non-polar molecules, which results in high viscosity and poor processing performance. Therefore, plasticization is very important during processing. Nitrile rubber has good oil resistance, and the influence of its oil resistance should be considered when selecting plasticizers. BBP, DNP, etc. are all good oil-resistant plasticizers, but their cold resistance is not ideal. Commonly used softeners for nitrile rubber include dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, etc.
(3)Neoprene
Neoprene is widely used in sponge products, impregnation products, paper treatments, coatings and adhesives, etc. In order to reduce the low-temperature embrittlement temperature of latex processing, ester plasticizers can be used. Generally, dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate, etc. are used in a dosage of 10 to 20 parts.
(4) Chlorosulfonated polyethylene
Due to the characteristics of its chemical structure, chlorosulfonated polyethylene has excellent properties such as weather resistance and flame retardancy that are rare in other synthetic rubbers. , it can be used in all areas of the rubber industry except latex products. In order to improve the low-temperature performance of its vulcanized rubber, dioctyl phthalate and dioctyl sebacate are commonly used.
(5) Chlorohydrin rubber
Chlorohydrin rubber has excellent properties such as oil resistance, ozone resistance, flame resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. In order to improve the low-temperature performance of homopolychlorohydrin rubber and further improve the cold resistance of copolychlorohydrin rubber, dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate and dioctyl adipate are usually used in amounts of 10 to 15 share.
