Minmetals Resources (MMG) said on Wednesday that copper production in fiscal 2023 is expected to reach 328,000 tons to 353,000 tons. Full-year zinc production is expected to range from 188,000 tons to 203,000 tons.
Copper production costs at the Las Bambas copper mine will reach between US$1.65 and US$1.75 per pound in 2023. Quarterly copper production (including copper cathode and copper concentrate) was 94,050 tons, down 2%.
Las Bambas’ copper production in 2023 will range from 285,000 tons to 305,000 tons.
Minmetals Resources said that discussions with the Juan Kuli community have made progress. Copper shipments from Las Bambas have been steady since the roadblocks were removed in March. As of September 30, the on-site copper concentrate inventory of the Las Bambas copper mine has been reduced to approximately 10,000 tons.
