Evonik launches new additive TEGO® Guard 9000. The product has “quick-setting properties” that provide immediate protection for building exteriors.
Although exterior paints vary from building to building, protecting a building from the elements is an almost universal requirement in exterior paint formulations. “Exterior paints are highly susceptible to the weather during application. Reuter introduced, “Win’s innovative TEGO® Guard
9000 was developed to address this critical application pain point and improves the stability of coating ingredients in exterior wall coatings, giving the coating instant excellent weather resistance. ”
Traditional exterior paint has a high pigment volume concentration (PVC) and often takes three hours or more to dry. TEGO® Guard
9000 has “quick-setting properties” that provide excellent rain protection within minutes of application. This is mainly due to new technology that promotes electrostatic interactions between cationic organic polymers and anionic paint components in the paint formulation.
In addition, TEGO® Guard
9000 can be added to formulas without affecting storage stability. It is universal in various emulsion systems, pigment volume concentrations and color formulas, and is suitable for environmentally friendly water-based exterior wall coatings.
