Recently, the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Yueyang City responded to Proposal No. 266 of the Second Session of the Ninth CPPCC Yueyang Municipal Committee – “Proposal on High-Quality Development of Yueyang Chemical Industry”, which mentioned: China Chemical The feasibility study of the adiponitrile project with an investment of 10 billion yuan has been completed, and it has been docked with Huazhong Chemical Sales on the guarantee of butadiene and other raw materials, and has obtained support.
The petrochemical industry is the first 100-billion-dollar industry in Yueyang City. There are 266 petrochemical-scale industrial enterprises in the city, with total assets of nearly 30 billion yuan and more than 50,000 employees. In 2022, the city’s petrochemical industry will complete a total scale industrial output value of 173.88 billion yuan, an increase of 46.95 billion yuan from 126.93 billion yuan in 2012, accounting for 60% of the province’s total petrochemical industry output value and 23.3% of the city’s total scale industrial output value.
On November 10, 2022, ChemChina and Yueyang City signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, urban infrastructure construction, and the creation of high-end chemical new material industries, aiming to achieve mutual benefit and common development.
On December 14, 2022, the Yunxi District Government of Yueyang City mentioned in its work report that it will accelerate the upgrading of industries. The goal is to move towards the development direction of “basic + high-end” and “chemical + material”, compile the “Regulatory Detailed Plan for Green Chemical High-tech Zone” and “Industrial Development Plan for the Core Base of Hunan’s Trillion Petrochemical Industry”, and focus on the development of nylon 66 industry chain, and promote the progress of the 300,000 tons/year adiponitrile project.
