The latest data shows that in the first half of 2023, the United States imported a total of 118.36 million tires, a year-on-year decrease of 23.2%. Among them, the import of passenger car tires decreased by 12% year-on-year to 76.65 million; the import of truck and bus tires decreased by 24% year-on-year to 23.16 million; the import of aircraft tires increased by 0.7% year-on-year to 164,000; million; bicycle tires fell 58% year-on-year to 3.08 million.
In the first half of the year, the United States imported 11.98 million tires from China, a year-on-year decrease of 52%. Among them, passenger car tires decreased by 23.2% year-on-year to 1.19 million; truck and bus tires decreased by 34% year-on-year to 1.13 million.
In the first half of the year, the United States imported 24.01 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 20%. Among them, there were 15.55 million passenger car tires, a year-on-year decrease of 13%; truck and bus tires were 6 million, a year-on-year decrease of 33%.
Thailand and China are major importers of American tires.
