On June 14, the 100,000-ton/year sodium methoxide project of Yulin Hongyu Environmental Renewable Resources Co., Ltd., the largest sodium methoxide plant in China, was completed and put into operation in Yulin, Shaanxi, producing crystal clear and qualified products.
The project is located in the Fine Chemical Park of Yulin High-tech Zone (Yuheng Industrial Park). Relying on the methanol produced by the company's 150,000-ton/mixed alcohol comprehensive utilization project and local rich sodium hydroxide as raw materials, vertical sieve plates and processing Sodium methoxide is produced by the technology of combining pressure and rectification. The total investment of the project is 180 million yuan. After two years of construction, it will be handed over on June 9 this year and has entered the preparatory stage for trial production. The results of the product inspection report on the day of production showed that the purity of sodium methoxide was 30.2%, which met the quality standard.
It is understood that Yulin is one of the largest coal-to-methanol and chlor-alkali chemical production bases in China, and the local methanol and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) resources are abundant. After Yulin Hongyu Environmental Protection's 100,000 sodium methoxide project is put into operation, it will not only achieve an annual output value of 300 million yuan, but also reduce the pressure on the local methanol and sodium hydroxide market, enrich product categories, and extend the industrial chain.
Sodium methoxide is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry, organic synthesis condensing agent, chemical reagent, edible oil treatment catalyst, etc. The product has a broad market prospect. (Li Jun)
