According to the data of the International Aluminum Association, global alumina production in May 2023 increased by 4.32% month-on-month to 11.918 million tons, and the output in April was 11.425 million tons; it decreased by 2.34% year-on-year, and the output in the same period last year was 12.204 million tons.
In May, the average daily output of alumina in the world was 384,500 tons, an increase of 0.97% from the previous month. The average daily output in April was 380,800 tons; a year-on-year decrease of 2.34%.
From January to May 2023, the cumulative global alumina output reached 56.715 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.99%. The cumulative output in the same period last year was 57.282 million tons.
In May, China's alumina output was 6.996 million tons, an increase of 3.34% from the previous month, and the output in April was 6.770 million tons; a year-on-year decrease of 0.77%, and the output in the same period in 2022 was 7.050 million tons.
From January to May, China's alumina output reached 32.986 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.99%. The total output in the same period last year was 31.720 million tons.
In May, China's average daily alumina output was 225,700 tons, the same as in April, and a year-on-year decrease of 0.75% from 227,400 tons/day in 2022.
