Yunnan is known as the "Kingdom of Animals and Plants", "Kingdom of Non-ferrous Metals" and "Treasure House of Medicines". In 1995, Yunnan Province took the lead in promulgating the Regulations on the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Yunnan Province.
Meng Dongmei, deputy director of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress, introduced that the newly revised "Regulations on Traditional Chinese Medicine in Yunnan Province" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") is divided into general provisions, traditional Chinese medicine services, and protection and development of traditional Chinese medicines. , TCM talent training and cultural dissemination, protection and promotion, legal responsibilities, and supplementary rules have a total of 7 chapters and 51 articles.
In view of the fact that Yunnan Province is an important production area and a large province of traditional Chinese medicinal materials in the country, the "Regulations" added a special chapter on the protection and development of traditional Chinese medicines, and the industrial development of Chinese medicinal materials covers from the ecological environment protection of planting and breeding to the whole industry. For example, support the development of standardized planting and breeding of Chinese herbal medicines, and strictly manage the use of pesticides, fertilizers, and plant growth regulators; support the breeding of authentic Chinese herbal medicines and the construction of production bases; promote the brand building of Yunnan-produced Chinese herbal medicines, etc.
At the same time, the "Regulations" broaden the scope of the dispensing and use of traditional Chinese medicine preparations in medical institutions, and expand the scope to medical institutions of traditional Chinese medicine, general hospitals, specialized hospitals, maternal and child health care institutions, and members of medical groups, medical alliances, and medical communities Units, as well as chain-operated TCM medical institutions. After the adjustment, the range of use of TCM preparations in Yunnan TCM medical institutions is the widest among all provinces (autonomous regions) and cities in the country.
