The latest data released by the General Administration of Customs shows that in May 2023, China will import 6.725 million tons of coking coal, a year-on-year increase of 47.3% and a month-on-month decrease of 19.8%.
From January to May 2023, China imported a total of 37.868 million tons of coking coal, a year-on-year increase of 79.6%; the cumulative import value was US$7.38 billion, a year-on-year increase of 27.2%.
In May 2023, China will import 1.476 million tons of anthracite coal, a year-on-year increase of 63.4% and a month-on-month increase of 12.7%.
From January to May 2023, China imported a total of 7.67 million tons of anthracite coal, a year-on-year increase of 123.1%; the cumulative import value was US$1.60 billion, a year-on-year increase of 118.8%.
