On June 14, the National Energy Administration released data on the electricity consumption of the whole society in May.
In May, the electricity consumption of the whole society was 722.2 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 10.3 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 16.9%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 495.8 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 128.5 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 20.9% %; urban and rural residents' living electricity consumption was 87.6 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%.
From January to May, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 3532.5 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. In terms of industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 45.6 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 2,364.3 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 613.6 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 9.8% %; urban and rural residents' living electricity consumption was 509 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%.
