According to experts, current intravenous thrombolysis is the only standard treatment for acute stroke. However, because intravenous thrombolysis must be carried out within 4.5 hours of onset, and there are strict contraindications, the rate of intravenous thrombolysis in my country is only 5.64%. Patients with occlusive stroke currently lack effective treatment methods recommended by high-level evidence-based medical evidence. For this clinical treatment dilemma, it is urgent to explore new treatment strategies.
"Tirofiban is a drug routinely used to treat heart diseases. We speculate that it may inhibit thrombosis mediated by activated platelets in the course of acute stroke. The stroke of the patient is mild, and the efficacy of tirofiban on patients with moderate to severe ischemic stroke is not yet clear." Yang Qingwu said that this study was carried out in collaboration with 117 stroke centers in 16 provinces across the country, using prospective, multi- Central, double-blind, double-dummy randomized control design, covering more than 1,100 clinical trial cases.
The results of the study showed that for non-large and medium vessel occlusion patients with acute disabling stroke, compared with the traditional treatment of oral low-dose aspirin, intravenous administration of tirofiban can improve the proportion of patients with excellent functional outcome7 %, the tirofiban group not only has significant clinical efficacy, but also has no significant difference in safety compared with existing treatments.
Experts pointed out that this study provides new high-level evidence-based medical evidence for the treatment of acute non-large and medium vessel occlusive stroke in the world, and provides a new method for the treatment of ischemic stroke, which can significantly reduce disability rate and improve the treatment efficiency of related patients.
