Evonik, the world's leading specialty chemicals company, and Aveco Group (AVK), an industrial valve manufacturing company, have jointly developed the first 110mm/4-inch polyamide 12 (PA12) gas ball valve, which is suitable for sub-high pressure (1.8MPa) and below) in the field of gas pipeline transportation. The ball valve has passed a full set of tests by a third-party authoritative laboratory, meeting ISO16486-4 and ASTM All requirements of B16.40.
The PA12 material developed by Evonik for gas pipeline applications has the characteristics of high strength, high toughness, impact resistance, zero corrosion and crack growth resistance. It can withstand a long-term operating pressure of up to 1.8MPa, which is much higher than other non-metallic materials. It is suitable for natural gas , biogas, hydrogen and other gas transportation. PA12 gas pipeline is suitable for trenchless construction methods such as horizontal directional drilling. Even if it is damaged by third-party machinery such as excavators, the pipeline can still maintain safe operation without leakage, providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective solution for gas operation .
