Learned from the National Energy Administration: Since the beginning of this year, the recovery of social production and life has accelerated, and the economy has stabilized and improved. In the first quarter, national energy consumption increased slightly, and energy supply and demand were generally stable.
Energy consumption continues to rise. In March, the electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 5.9% year-on-year, which was higher than the growth rate of 2.3% in the previous two months. In the first quarter, the electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 3.6% year-on-year, of which industrial electricity consumption increased by 4.4% year-on-year, contributing 78% to the increase in electricity consumption; the year-on-year growth rate of natural gas and refined oil consumption has rebounded significantly since February; The increase in demand for industrial energy drives the steady growth of coal consumption.
The ability to guarantee energy supply has been continuously enhanced. By strengthening the safe production of key coal-producing provinces and enterprises, we will fully promote the exploration and development of oil and gas resources and increase reserves and production. In the first quarter, the production of raw coal, crude oil and natural gas increased by 5.5%, 2.0% and 4.5% respectively year-on-year; The "stabilizer" role of medium and long-term contracts to ensure supply and stabilize prices has maintained a relatively high level of coal storage in power plants nationwide since March.
Energy imports increased steadily. In order to ensure domestic energy demand, my country's energy imports increased in the first quarter. Among them, coal imports increased by 96.1% year-on-year; crude oil imports increased by 6.7% year-on-year; natural gas imports decreased by 3.6% year-on-year.
Green and low-carbon transformation of energy has been steadily advanced. In the first quarter, the newly installed capacity of renewable energy in the country was 47.4 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 86.5%, accounting for 80.3% of the newly installed capacity. Wind power and photovoltaic power generation reached 342.2 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%. The construction of a batch of major energy projects with structural adjustment and steady growth was accelerated. According to monitoring, in the first two months of this year, the investment in key projects in the national energy sector increased by 24.9% year-on-year.
