From the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, on May 11, 2023 local time, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued an announcement stating that the Brazilian company Cablena do Brasil Ltda., Furukawa Eletric Latam S.A. and Prysmian Cabos e Sistemas do Brasil Application filed by S.A. to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on optical fiber cable products originating in China with an external coating of dielectric material. The NCM tariff number of the product involved in the case is 8544.70.10 (the above customs code and the translation of the product involved in the case are for reference only, and the original text in the case filing announcement shall prevail).
The dumping investigation period in this case is from July 2021 to June 2022, and the damage investigation period is from July 2017 to June 2022.
According to the Brazilian anti-dumping law, the sample enterprises should submit the questionnaire and other relevant materials to the investigation agency through the SEI procedure within 30 days after receiving the anti-dumping questionnaire. Sampling companies need to submit questionnaires within the time specified by the investigation agency and carry out other corresponding response work. Companies involved in the case that do not sue will be regarded as non-cooperative companies and may receive punitive tax rates, thus losing the Brazilian market. Other stakeholders can apply to the Brazilian investigation agency to participate in the investigation within 20 days after the case is filed.
