Inc. (RS) has announced a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas to meet growing demand for its industry-leading composite utility structural solutions. The 400,000-square-foot facility and adjacent eight-acre storage yard will provide critical American-made products needed to support grid reinforcement.
The Houston-based facility will employ up to 350 manufacturing employees and more than 50 professionals to design, engineer and manufacture the most sustainable high-performance polyurethane composite utility poles, crossarms and structure. The company’s products are storm and fire resistant and have the lowest total life cycle cost compared to traditional wood, steel or concrete products. RS products are delivering highly reliable performance to more than 460 utility customers in 28 countries in some of the world’s harshest climates. Leveraging the company’s deep material science experience, RS is a manufacturer of composite structures using 100% polyurethane resin, achieving long product life and requiring no regular maintenance.

In addition to its proximity to CenterPoint Energy and other major coastal utilities requiring resiliency solutions, RS’s location in Houston was based on access to a highly skilled technical workforce.

RS’s new Houston location will open in early 2024.
