China’s vitamin K3 production accounts for more than 80% of the world’s total production

Vitamin K3 (vitaminK3, VK3), also known as menadione, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C11H8O2. It is widely used in fine chemicals, medicine, feed additives and other fields. Vitamin K3 has special hemostatic function and can shorten blood clotting time. Currently, there are less than ten companies producing vitamin K3 in the world. China accounts for nearly 84% of global production and is the world’s largest producer of vitamin K3. The application scope of vitamin K3 is mainly concentrated in feed, medicine and other fields. At the same time, my country is the largest feed producer in the world, and the demand for vitamin K3 is relatively large. The price of vitamin K3 products is greatly affected by fluctuations in raw material prices. Since 2018, affected by the lower prices of raw materials such as sodium dichromate and the saturation of the vitamin K3 market, the price of vitamin K3 has dropped significantly compared with 2018. In the first half of 2022, affected by the shortage of raw materials such as sodium dichromate and the sharp rise in prices, the price of vitamin K3 rose sharply.
