Recently, the National Railway Administration issued the "2022 Railway Statistical Bulletin" (referred to as the "Statistical Bulletin"). The Statistical Bulletin shows:
First, the prevention and control of the epidemic and the guarantee of smooth flow are strong and effective. In 2022, the total national railway freight delivery volume will be 4.984 billion tons, an increase of 4.4% over the previous year. The number of railway passengers sent across the country was 1.673 billion.
Second, the safety of railway transportation remains stable. In 2022, there will be no particularly serious or major accidents in railway traffic across the country.
The third is to further expand the scale of the railway network. In 2022, the national railway fixed asset investment will be 710.9 billion yuan, and 4,100 kilometers of new lines will be put into operation, including 2,082 kilometers of high-speed railways. The national railway operating mileage reached 155,000 kilometers, including 42,000 kilometers of high-speed railways.
Fourth, the railway standard system has been continuously improved. In 2022, 6 national railway standards, 31 railway industry standards, and 2 railway industry measurement regulations will be issued. Published 6 international standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Union of Railways (UIC), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) formulated under the auspices of my country.
Fifth, new achievements have been made in railway science and technology innovation. There are 13 key laboratories recognized by the railway industry and 13 engineering research centers. A total of 27 patents in the railway industry won the 23rd China Patent Award. In 2022, 320 items will be included in the library of major railway scientific and technological innovation achievements.
Sixth, the green development of railways is steadily advancing. In 2022, the comprehensive energy consumption of the national railway unit transportation workload will be reduced by 0.17 tons of standard coal/million converted ton-kilometers, the emission of chemical oxygen demand will be reduced by 158 tons, and the emission of sulfur dioxide will be reduced by 1112 tons compared with the previous year.
