Recently, Freudenberg Performance Materials has expanded its range of superelastic interlinings with a range of interlinings based on 100% recycled thermoplastic elastomer (rTPE) components. The company is the first supplier in the apparel market to introduce a range of interlinings made from 100% recycled thermoplastic elastomer (rTPE) in the substrate. Given the increasing use of elastic interlinings in garments and based on Freudenberg Performance Materials' sustainability principles, these new products represent the company's ongoing commitment to high-quality and sustainable solutions that deliver results every season. All produce responsible products.
The new interlining based on 100% rTPE composition has a weight of 40-90 g/m2 and has a wide range of applicability – from lightweight knitted fabrics for leggings and sports bras to fabrics requiring medium weight stretch, such as denim , maternity or casual wear. The new interlining has excellent stretch and recovery capabilities, providing sustainability without compromising quality.
In addition to the newly launched interlinings based on 100% rTPE components, Freudenberg also offers interlinings from the XB and UE series. XB series are non-woven interlinings with a weight of 40-72g/m2, soft to the touch, light to medium weight, and strong washability. These interlinings are used in sportswear and fashion applications such as the cuffs and waistbands of leggings. The UE series weighs 153-220g/m2 and offers high elasticity, good recovery and support. Additionally, the mesh construction ensures excellent breathability for garments such as sports bras.
Freudenberg offers the market a full range of superelastic interlinings and offers greater possibilities for sports and leisure styling – from the soft-handling, light to mid-weight, durable XB series to the Lining series based on 100% rTPE composition, and UE series mesh structure that provides good support and breathability.
Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel's "Sustainable Home" is a major initiative to help customers improve the sustainability of their apparel products and build a more sustainable future. Freudenberg offers the latest innovations and solutions combining functionality and environmental benefits for sustainable clothing that supports people and the planet in all production seasons.
The introduction of interlinings based on 100% rTPE content for the summer production season reduces the need for virgin materials in garments, as well as the extraction practices required to produce such materials. Additionally, using recycled content reduces material in landfills and oceans, considering the full lifecycle management of garments.
Through continuous technical and operational development, Freudenberg will continue to develop new solutions that are more friendly to customers and the environment.
