When the 35th China International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition is about to be held, Jiangsu Fanhua Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. and Kunming Donghao Titanium Co., Ltd. jointly launched a series of new products - polycarbonate engineering Plastic grade titanium dioxide DR-2688 is another achievement of InterChina Chemical’s implementation of the high-end plastic application titanium dioxide product serialization strategy after the high weather resistance plastic grade titanium dioxide DR-2589.
InterChina Chemical and Kunming Donghao formed a strategic partnership in October 2016. The two sides carried out comprehensive cooperation in R&D, manufacturing and marketing, and successively launched series products of titanium dioxide for high-end plastic applications: in 2017, high-concentration color masterbatch and film special DR-2588 was put on the market, and its outstanding performance and quality have won sales and reputation; in order to meet the needs of users of outdoor plastic products, the two parties launched the DR-2589 for outdoor high-weather-resistant plastics in 2020, which won international awards. Users adopt it in large quantities; DR-2588 and DR-2589 have created value for downstream advanced users with outstanding product performance, high cost performance, and product quality comparable to the chlorination method. At the beginning of 2023, after three years of research and development, DR-2688, a special type of polycarbonate engineering plastic, was successfully mass-produced and put on the market.
DR-2688 is a rutile-type titanium dioxide pigment specially designed for the production of polycarbonate (PC) systems. It adopts special inorganic and organic surface treatment processes to effectively solve the problem of viscosity reduction, brightness reduction, and hue degradation during the processing of polymers such as PC. Problems such as yellowing and material embrittlement can ensure the optical and mechanical properties of PC and other engineering plastics, and have excellent anti-degradation and anti-yellowing properties of PC systems. DR-2688 is recommended to be used in polycarbonate and other engineering plastic systems, such as: pure PC material, PC compound, PC alloy, etc. and ABS, PET, PA and other engineering plastic systems. Polycarbonates (PC) are a group of thermoplastic polymers containing carbonate groups in their chemical structure. Polycarbonates used in engineering are strong, tough materials, and some grades are optically clear. They are easy to process, form and thermoform.
