● Faber Hecher showcased a variety of sustainable colorant solutions to help the green and low-carbon development of the plastics industry
● Faberge pigment experts gathered at booth J35 in Hall 14 to exchange and share technical experience
The thirty-fifth China International Rubber and Plastic Exhibition (CHINAPLAS 2023) will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center from April 17th to 20th. As a global leader in the field of organic and inorganic pigments, Heubach exhibited a series of organic and inorganic pigments, dyes and All-round color solutions help China's plastics industry move towards a more sustainable development direction.
Gu Guiguo, general manager of Faber Hector China, said: "Compared with other materials, plastics have many advantages. For example, plastics can help protect food or reduce the weight of cars. According to relevant studies, in most application scenarios, the greenhouse gas emissions caused by plastics are even lower than that of alternative materials. Innovative color solutions play a vital role in improving the sustainability of the plastics industry. Experts from Faber Hercules look forward to sharing their latest insights on a wide range of topics, including colorants for renewable and biodegradable plastics, as well as high-purity colorants for sensitive consumer goods, packaging and textile applications, and more. "
Currently, Faber Hector's organic and inorganic pigments, dyes and color solutions contribute to sustainable development in the following different ways:
- By using bio-based raw materials, green energy or ensuring low water consumption, Faber Hecher has improved the environmental footprint of the pigments during production.
- Fabercher pigments also have a positive impact on sustainability during processing: Thanks to their high dispersibility, the use of Fabercher pigments requires less energy in masterbatch preparation and enables fiber producers to increase output . Excellent quality stability helps manufacturers improve first-time yield.
- Sustainability is also about extending the life of plastic products. Pigments with high light fastness and high weather fastness are the key to maintaining the long-term usability and quality of plastic products.
Faber Hecher has a wide and diverse portfolio of colorant solutions in the industry. At this Chinaplas, it will showcase a series of innovative products that actively contribute to sustainable development in different ways.
Helping customers achieve sustainable development goals
High-chroma colorants for recycled plastics in detergent and shampoo packaging can help contract manufacturers meet their “goal to reduce virgin plastic use.” Specific grades of Faber Hector have undergone multiple extrusion stability tests and are supported by the PCR resin compatible color matching database. These colorants are also recommended for integral dyeing of recycled resin based fibers and filaments — It supports the further growth of the overall dyeing process to replace the bath dyeing process and will further make an important contribution to sustainable development.
In addition, by conducting technical suitability tests and providing access to TÜV For the pigment option of Rheinland Carbon Footprint Certification, Faber Hector also supports the "target of reducing the use of fossil plastics" and "target of reducing carbon dioxide footprint" of OEM manufacturers.
Lower environmental footprint
Faber Hector's new ultramarine blue pigment, Ultrazur™, is currently in production at the newly opened Indian factory, using advanced technology to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, water consumption and energy consumption.
For compostable plastics Fabercher offers a range of pigments with the OK compostable industry certification. The certification requires pigments to be of high purity and non-ecotoxic to plants.
Compound black colorant
In order to ensure the easy recyclability of black plastics, Faber Hector has developed a series of colorants and composite colorants that do not contain carbon black and have low near-infrared absorption rate. Their recycling friendliness has been verified by a number of near-infrared recognition tests. These colorants have a wide range of packaging applications, including bottles, caps, trays and shrink films. Compared to inorganic black pigments, Fabercher's composite black colorants have also been proven not to have a negative impact on the mechanical properties of the product.
Cool pigments also make an important contribution to sustainable development by reducing energy consumption. Faber Hecher inorganic pigment series HEUCODUR® is an excellent representative of cool color pigments.
High-purity colorant
Customers are increasingly concerned about the quality and purity of colorants, especially when manufacturing sensitive goods such as food packaging, children's toys and clothing. Faber Hector has a wide range of high-performance organic and inorganic pigments, polymer soluble dyes and optical brighteners, which meet strict regulations and safety standards in areas such as food packaging and toy coloring (including FDA, EU 10/2011, GB9685 and EN71-3, etc.) and the specific requirements of the apparel industry's Production Restricted Substance List (MRSL). MRSL-certified colorants make textiles more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Among them, a variety of PV Fast® and Graphtol™ pigments have achieved ZDHC Class 1 compliance certification, and broader compliance testing is ongoing.
As the global electronics industry pays more and more attention to the recyclability of electronic and electrical equipment, Faber Hector's halogen-free and lead-free colorants series provide a variety of solutions, including the selection of HEUCODUR®, VANADUR®, VYNAMON™, HEUCO®-Fit, PV Inorganic and organic pigments such as Fast®, Graphtol™, and polymer-soluble dyes such as Solvaperm®, Polysynthren® and Hostasol®.
Pigments with excellent light fastness and weather fastness extend the life of plastic products and are especially suitable for outdoor applications such as window profiles, fence profiles, automotive interiors and artificial turf. For this reason, HEUCODUR® by Faber Hector and VANADUR® range of inorganic pigments offer excellent solutions.
