Evonik is working on making its VESTAMID® Doubled global capacity for E polyether block amide (PEBA). To this end, Evonik will expand its factory at the Multi-User Site (MUSC) in Shanghai and at the same time promote an optimization project at its production site in Marl, Germany. The Shanghai expansion project will be officially launched in the autumn of 2023. The expanded factory will help increase Evonik’s PEBA production capacity , so as to meet the demand for this material in the global sports shoes market.

As a supplement to the expansion project in Shanghai, Evonik is currently carrying out several capacity optimization projects at another major PEBA plant in Evonik, the PEBA plant in Marl, Germany, in order to eliminate production bottlenecks and increase the total global capacity of PEBA.
