Dr. Thomas Koini (56 years old) will officially assume the post of President of WACKER Silicones on July 1, 2023, succeeding Robert
Dr. Gnann (58 years old). The latter will leave the company at his own request and retire on June 30, 2023. Dr. Koini is currently in charge of the Functional Silicone Solutions business unit of the WACKER SILICONES business unit.
Dr. Thomas Koini (56 years old) will be President of Wacker Chemie AG’s Silicones business unit as of July 1, 2023.

Dr. Koini studied Economic Engineering at the University of Linz, Austria, where he received his PhD in Technical Sciences. He joined WACKER as a trainee in 1996 as head of the laboratory in the Technical Marketing Department of the WACKER SILICONES business unit, and then held various management positions for the WACKER SILICONES business unit in Germany and abroad, starting in 2008 Leads WACKER’s silicone business in China. In 2014, he was appointed as the head of the sales and distribution department directly under the group. In 2018, he was the head of the functional silicone solutions business unit until now.
