On May 8, all 135 wind turbines of the Fuyuan West Wind Power Project in Yunnan Province were connected to the grid for power generation, marking the full-capacity commissioning of the plateau wind power base with the largest installed capacity in China. Fuyuan West Wind Power Project is located in a plateau area above 2,000 meters above sea level, with abundant wind resources, with a total installed capacity of 800 MW and an annual on-grid electricity of 2.06 billion kWh. The project uses all kinds of intelligent sensor equipment to collect data in an all-round way to realize remote monitoring, control and early warning of power generation equipment. This innovative method is also used for the first time in China.
With the project fully put into operation, it will not only reduce 1.732 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 1,171.8 tons of sulfur dioxide per year, illuminate more than 1.2 million households, and provide more than 3,000 jobs for the project site during the construction period.
