According to the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce's monitoring data on the province's production means circulation market, in the 15th week of 2023 (April 3-9), the average sales price of coal in Hunan Province was 1,145.11 yuan/ton, a decrease of 4.5%. down 4.4%. In terms of varieties, the average sales price of anthracite was 1,374 yuan/ton, a decrease of 14.2%, and a year-on-year decrease of 10.4%; the average sales price of bituminous coal was 1,030.66 yuan/ton, an increase of 3.2%, and a year-on-year increase of 0.1%.
Coal market prices in Hunan Province have fallen for two consecutive weeks, with a cumulative decline of 4.6%. Coal prices fell 4.5% this week, remaining weak. The main reason for the drop in coal prices is the weakening of coal trading under the traditional off-season effect. April entered the off-season of traditional thermal coal consumption, some power plants arranged routine maintenance, daily consumption was low, and long-term cooperative coal stocks increased. Despite the increase in coal consumption in steel, cement, chemical and other industries, overall coal demand remains weak.
Looking forward to the market outlook, the supply and demand pattern of the coal market has recently turned loose, and the downstream has a cautious attitude. The overall price of the coal market is running in a weak downward channel. It is expected that the coal market price in Hunan Province will continue to stabilize and decline next week, and it will run weakly.
