Sinopec Refining & Chemical Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. (Sinopec) held a press conference in Hong Kong on the 21st to announce its 2023 interim results. Within three years, the proportion of overseas contracts will reach 30% of the group's overall contracts.
According to the financial report, the group's turnover during the period was 24.83 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%, and its net profit was 1.317 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. In the first half of the year, the total amount of newly signed contracts in China was about 29.949 billion yuan, and the total amount of newly signed contracts outside China was about 1.112 billion US dollars.
Jiang Dejun, chairman of Sinopec, said that the group will fulfill the commitment set at the beginning of the year to complete the annual target of 50 billion yuan in domestic new contracts, and strive to achieve a record high in the amount of new domestic contracts this year.
Jia Yiqun, Chief Financial Officer of China Refining and Chemical Corporation, said that because the projects received by the group were in different stages of delivery, the group's revenue and gross profit margin both declined in the first half of the year. He expected the group's annual revenue to be similar to last year.
