Sustainability has been a key driving force behind BYK's development of new additives for many years. In addition to the obvious properties and effects of the product, questions about environmental impact, chemical basis and energy consumption also play an important role. BYK is presenting at Eurocoats 2023 three additives from the Cerafour product line that meet these requirements.
With Ceraflour 1003 and Ceraflour 1004 With the launch of these two cornstarch-based polymers with waxy properties, BYK is further expanding its portfolio of sustainable additives. Both additives ensure a good matting effect while maintaining high clarity.
Ceraflour 1003 has a slight surface texture and provides a similar matting effect at different viewing angles and is especially recommended for wood and furniture coatings as well as architectural coatings.
On the other hand, Ceraflour 1004 has a finer particle size that produces a slight matte effect while offering high clarity and a smooth, soft, silky surface feel. Recommended for wood and furniture coatings, coil coatings and architectural coatings.
Another new bio-based additive will be the focus of BYK's stand in Hall 3A at ECO: Ceraflour 1010.
Ceraflour 1010 is a micronized rapeseed-based wax which, in addition to an excellent matting effect, also has very good mechanical resistance. This makes it ideally suited for modern wood coating systems, such as natural look formulations, for general industrial coatings and architectural coatings.
