Foreign news on August 22, the American Petroleum Institute (API) released data on Tuesday showing that U.S. crude oil and distillate inventories fell last week, while gasoline inventories rose.
The API report showed that U.S. crude oil inventories fell by about 2.4 million barrels in the week ended August 18. Gasoline inventories rose by 1.9 million barrels, while distillate stockpiles fell by about 150,000 barrels.
Market analysts previously estimated that U.S. crude oil inventories fell by about 2.9 million barrels in the week ended August 18; U.S. gasoline inventories fell by 900,000 barrels in the week, and distillate oil inventories, including diesel and heating oil, rose in the week 200,000 barrels.
