Product Introduction
DESMODUR 44C is a 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate monomer with a molecular weight of 250 and is non-toxic at room temperature. Color to light yellow solid. This product is mainly used in the production of polyurethane products.
Sampling
Prevent the product from coming into contact with water vapor during the sampling process.

DESMODUR 44C has two supply methods:
- Liquid (tank truck)
- Solid (barrel, net weight 225 kg)
Like all isocyanates, DESMODUR 44C is very sensitive to water and reacts with water to produce insoluble urea and carbon dioxide. In a closed container, the carbon dioxide produced will cause the pressure in the container to rise and cause danger.
When DESMODUR 44C is exposed to air, especially sunlight, it will accelerate its yellowing. Therefore, it is recommended to store liquid DESMODUR 44C in a dry nitrogen environment. Yellowing generally does not affect the processability of the product.
DESMODUR 44C is sensitive to heat and will form dimers. Solid DESMODUR 44C is more prone to dimerization reaction at room temperature than liquid state at 45°C. Therefore, solid products need to be stored below 5°C and melt gradually and quickly before use. Although the dimerization rate of the product decreases as the temperature decreases, the stability is still limited even below 5°C.
Solid DESMODUR 44C needs to be heated to ≥70°C for melting. This process will increase the formation of insoluble dimers, and may cause the barrel to deform due to the increase in temperature and pressure.
