Photoinitiator 184 for UV radiation curing systems

Product Introduction
Photoinitiator 184 is the best choice for non-yellowing applications. It is a fracture-type photoinitiator with fast speed and long storage life. Non-yellowing and low-irritation properties make it ideal as a varnish for paper, flooring, metal, plastic and wood.

Application
Photoinitiator 184, when exposed to ultraviolet light, undergoes intramolecular homolytic cleavage to generate a pair of free radicals, which triggers the polymerization of the ultraviolet curing system. It does not require a hydrogen donor to initiate free radicals. But its free radicals are very sensitive to oxygen in the air.
When the non-yellowing properties are strictly required, it is strongly recommended to use photoinitiator 184. Outdoor exposure test results show that compared with other initiators, it has better long-term non-yellowing performance. Additionally, it is less sensitive to air inhibition during curing than Photoinitiator 1173.
The usage rate of photoinitiator 184 varies depending on system composition, light source, line speed and film thickness, but is usually between 0.5% and 5% w/w. Photoinitiator 184 can be used in printing inks, overprint varnishes, wood lacquers, adhesives and photoresist dry films.

Storage conditions
Must be stored in a closed container under dark, dry conditions.
