The 2023 Polyurethane Innovation Award is now open for applications and the deadline is June 19, 2023. Presented by the Center for the Polyurethane Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the award is widely considered the industry's highest technical honor. The awards recognize determined and visionary companies and individuals who bring innovative, life-enhancing products, technologies and initiatives to the market.
CPI Senior Director Lee Salamone said: "This year marks the 65th year that the conference has been held, and we look forward to continuing the tradition of honoring those top pioneers in the polyurethane industry. Polyurethane remains one of the most versatile chemistries that help solve today's challenges. The Innovation Awards recognize individuals who have moved the polyurethane industry forward with hard work and determination."
The recipient of the 2022 Polyurethane Innovation Award is Carbon, which received the award for its EPU 44 technology. As described by Carbon, the EPU 44 is an industrial-grade elastic 3D printing resin containing 40% bio-based content, especially suitable for lattice structures that require high elasticity. It has superior lattice structure properties, prints faster, uses less material, and has higher green strength for delicate designs.
Entries for the 2023 Innovation Awards must be new innovations that have not previously been submitted for an Innovation Award. Eligible innovations include finished products, chemicals, initiatives, training or educational programs, processes and process equipment that enter the market for the first time between June 18, 2021 and June 19, 2023. Companies or individuals must submit applications by June 19, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. ET. CPI will present Innovation Awards at the conclusion of the 2023 Polyurethanes Technology Conference, September 25-27, 2023 at the Marriott in San Antonio, Texas River center held.
