On April 18, the reporter learned that Daqing Petrochemical Plastics Factory successively completed the production plan of 935 tons of UH060P, UH100P and UH150P grades of ultra-high molecular weight products on line C of the low-voltage device. Among them, UH150P with a molecular weight of 1.5 million was produced for the first time, marking another step forward in Daqing Petrochemical's ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene resin production technology.
In recent years, in order to broaden the market application field, the factory has successively developed new products such as bottle cap material 5603JP, chlorinated polyethylene B-type material QL565P/QL585P and so on. Last year, on the basis of market research and analysis, the market development and technical personnel of this factory learned that ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene resin has a good market application prospect, and the current demand is about 70,000 tons per year.
With the development of new energy sources, the global demand for lithium battery separators will grow at a rate of more than 20% in the next five years. The demand for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene resin as its production raw material will also increase accordingly. In the next two years, the global potential market space is expected to expand by 4 to 5 times, and it may increase to more than 160,000 tons in 2030.
Compared with similar products for low-pressure devices, UH150P has a lower product index, and its molecular weight index is several times higher than that of ordinary products. The catalysts used are also different, and the production process conditions are relatively difficult, and fine powder is easily produced, which will block the pipeline. This factory benchmarks the imported products in the market, determines the main parameters, and puts into use the device with a small flow hydrogen valve to precisely control the particle size, preparation, and use of the catalyst.
In 2023, Daqing Petrochemical Plastics Factory produced 3 grades of ultra-high polymer products totaling 238 tons, and successively conducted processing tests on 3 users in the market. The overall trial effect is good, the stretched film surface is relatively smooth and uniform, and its mechanical properties such as tensile strength and puncture strength are better than those of the comparison sample.
After in-depth technical exchanges with customers, Daqing Petrochemical Plastic Factory has done a lot of work in optimizing the average particle size of catalysts, improving the stability of production control, and improving product color difference this year. UH150P products have high added value, and the trial production of 148 tons has created considerable economic benefits.

The plant will further target the market, position itself as high-end, and increase the research and development of ultra-high molecular weight series products, so as to effectively break the current situation of homogeneous production in the general-purpose polyethylene market and increase the economic benefits of the enterprise.
