Huntsman Introduces New All-Water Foam Sole System for Higher Quality Footwear Finishes

New DALTOPED AquaPUR technology will be available on September 19-20 Day at the DESMA House exhibition.

● Huntsman Polyurethanes today announced the launch of DALTOPED AquaPUR technology, an innovative fully water-blown polyether sol solution that provides excellent flow and surface definition for a more aesthetically pleasing and more comfortable sole .

DALTOPED AquaPUR technology, which will be unveiled this week at DESMA House 2018, enables high-quality surface treatments that footwear producers typically associate with physical foaming systems. DALTOPED AquaPUR technology is designed to provide a better look and a better sole feel for a variety of footwear, including comfort and casual shoes, and is available in a wide range of densities, suitable for direct machining and casting unit soles and midsoles.

DALTOPED AquaPUR technology has all the standard features required of a polyether material, including good cold bending properties as well as hydrolysis and slip resistance, and also offers excellent processability. It is compatible with standard polyurethane processing machines and has excellent flow characteristics enabling complex designs in a wide range of color options. The material has excellent mix stability in machine tanks and can be processed at room temperature, helping to reduce energy consumption and shorten cycle times.
